Heart to Heart Video Series: Episode 10 - Alexandria Franklin, Professional Ballerina

Heart to Heart Episode 10 features Alexandria Franklin, a Professional Ballerina, currently with the world-renowned Hiplet Ballerinas. Alexandria is a graduate of Howard University, where she was summa cum laude with a BA in fashion merchandising, where she also danced on the dance team, the Bisonettes. After graduating from Howard University, Alexandria danced for the NBA’s Washington Wizards as a Wizard Girl, the Washington National Opera, Dissonance Dance Company, and El teatro de Danza de El Salvador. Alexandria moved to NYC to further her dance career and danced for Urban Ballet Theatre, Brooklyn Ballet and Neglia Ballet. Although NYC felt like home, Alexandria left NY for the opportunity to dance for the world famous UniverSOUL Circus. Alexandria then joined the Royal Caribbean International Cruise line as a dancer and aerialist in their production cast for three years. Looking to get into the commercial industry, Alexandria moved back to her home of Chicago and joined Hiplet Ballerinas, a ballet fusion company under the direction of Homer Bryant. With Hiplet, she has danced in the Moncler Fashion show in Paris fashion week as well as many other spotlights, including in the Fox TV show Empire, dancing in Hatshepsut, a short film that has been shown in international film festivals directed by Sonia Hines, and an Orbit gum commercial. She shares her years of dance and fitness experience by teaching private ballet and small group fitness classes in Chicago.
